Would you like to be the driving force behind safety, compliance and stable operations at Hans Christian Andersen Airport – Funen’s international airport, home to Denmark’s national drone test centre, the UAS Denmark Test Centre, and a rapidly growing business park?
HCA Airport is looking for a Safety & Compliance Manager who can ensure that our operations, infrastructure, processes and documentation always meet the applicable requirements – whilst also contributing to a strong safety culture at a growing airport.
HCA Airport has a clear vision of becoming Europe’s leading drone test centre and is focusing its strategic efforts on four key areas: drones, defence cooperation, the business park and general aviation.
About the role
As Safety & Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in translating complex aviation requirements into practical solutions that work in a regional airport characterised by short decision-making processes and close cross-functional collaboration. You will work at the intersection of safety management, compliance monitoring and change management – and you will help to ensure that both existing infrastructure and new initiatives meet the requirements of EASA, the Danish Transport Authority and internal standards.
You will be a key point of contact for operations, projects and management, and you will have a significant influence on how we develop and document safe operations at HCA Airport and the UAS Denmark Test Centre.
You will be part of the team of area managers from Fire & Rescue, AFIS, Security and Administration, taking part in coordination meetings, knowledge-sharing and discussions regarding tasks, projects, risk assessments, etc., and will report to the Managing Director / AM (Accountable Manager).
Your main responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable requirements for airport infrastructure, procedures and operations
- Carry out compliance assessments in connection with projects, changes and new solutions
- Carry out internal audits
- Support change processes leading up to regulatory approvals and ensure accurate documentation
- Draw up and maintain procedures, manuals and process descriptions
- Identify and assess risks in collaboration with operational departments
- Contribute to the safety culture, training and internal advice
- Coordinate contact with the authorities and ensure follow-up on inspections
- Wide-ranging collaboration across the organisation on implementation, quality and progress
About the organisation
You will become part of a small, highly professional team where collaboration, knowledge-sharing and quality are key. HCA Airport is a regional airport where you’ll be closely involved with operations, projects and decision-makers – and where your work will have a direct impact on safety and development across the entire airport. We work purposefully to develop our processes, strengthen our documentation and ensure that both day-to-day operations and projects are carried out in accordance with applicable requirements, with a focus on making everything come together seamlessly in the art of making the most of opportunities.
Your profile
You thrive in a role where you deal with complex requirements, numerous stakeholders and the need to create structure and maintain an overview. You are curious, analytical and good at translating rules into practical solutions.
We expect you to have:
- Experience in compliance, quality or safety within a regulated sector
- Ability to work in a structured manner and gain an overview of complex processes
- Good teamwork skills and a desire to work closely with both operations and administration
- The ability to handle several tasks simultaneously without losing sight of the bigger picture
- Knowledge of the aviation sector is an advantage – but experience from other regulated sectors (transport, energy, defence, public authorities, etc.) is also relevant
If you can bring strong process skills and a keen eye for risks and quality to the role, we’d love to hear from you – even if you don’t have a background in aviation.
We offer
- A key role at an airport characterised by short decision-making processes and significant influence
- A key role in the development of coexistence between manned and unmanned aviation
- An informal and engaging working environment with a high standard of professionalism
- Excellent opportunities for personal and professional development
