Thunderstrike Aviation opens hangar at HCA Airport

US drone manufacturer Thunderstrike Aviation has just officially opened its brand new hangar at HCA Airport, which was celebrated in style.

On Monday, the Mayor of Odense Municipality, Peter Rahbæk Juel, the Mayor of Nordfyn Municipality, Mette Landtved-Holm, and the owner and founder of Thunderstrike Aviation, David Schmidt, cut the red ribbon for the new hangar, which will be used in the future to develop, test and demonstrate the company's drone solutions for environmental monitoring, border surveillance, search and rescue, etc.

Thunderstrike Aviation's range of drone solutions includes state-of-the-art and multi-fuel drone technologies and it is Thunderstrike's ambition to redefine the market in terms of what is possible with drone technology while being safe and good for the environment.

During the opening of the hangar, Thunderstrike Aviation also unveiled their ambitious plans to build a brand new production facility in extension of the hangar, where they will eventually produce between 200-300 drones per year. This is great news and an important milestone for Odense, Funen and the drone community at HCA Airport.

"At HCA Airport, we are both happy and proud to add an ambitious, international company like Thunderstrike to the airport's already strong drone ecosystem, and we also see it as a seal of approval for our facilities," says Hans Okholm Vejrup, CEO of HCA Airport.

The company hopes to build around 3,000 square metres of production space adjacent to the newly built hangar, with production expected to open as early as 2025.
